Anyone else noticing a slow audio waveform re-draw since switching to FCP 5.1.1 and QT 7.1. Very slow audio waveform re-draws here everytime I move to another section of the timeline with only four channels of audio. Just curious if anyone else is seeing this.

So far we’re not seeing any kind of speed improvements on either of our systems running FCP 5.1 that I heard folks talking about on these forums, but it could be something on our end.

I think I’m going to skip that “upgrade” and stay at 5.0.4. Sounds like a lot of problems, and the only benefit that I’ve heard of is for users of a laptop or iMac with an intel chip or someone with a P2 camera.

Sucks that you are having all these weird problems Walter. Did you ever get those DVDs to mount? How hard would it be for you to go back to QT7.0 and FCP 5.0.4? Might be worth it to do so and let Apple work out the bugs on this newest update.

At this point I can’t. Thanks to FCP 5.1 not being backwards compatible with FCP 5.0, we’re just going to plow through these edits and make do with what we have.
