May 17, 2006 at 12:49 amIt fixes hardware compatibility issues and “critical bugs” according to the small blurb with it. Hopefully it’s a bit less buggy than what we’re running here now. No deal breakers, but certainly some weirdness that wasn’t there with FCP 5.0.4.
I’ll go ahead and run it in the morning.

May 17, 2006 at 1:41 amThe blurb looks like this may only deal with Intel based problems. Should we try it on a G5, dual 2.7? Walter, which one are you trying it on tomorrow?
Also, do we need to mess with the ProApps Runtime application support, or the Pro Apps updates on the new 5.1? (I’m just setting it up on a wiped clean disk, with 10.4.6, and QT 7.1).

May 30, 2006 at 6:15 pmI just did the entire 5.0 to 5.1.1 crossgrade/update, and it did NOT fix the issue with duplicating frames when using rendered P2 material.
A bit more explanation…
We’re doing a project shot with the Panasonic P2 – 720p-24fps. Whenever the material in the timline needs to be rendered, it does not reference the correct frame, and I wind up with a duplicate frame.
Let’s say I have a 5 second shot, with a subtitle appearing at 2 seconds in. Frames 1-48 are clean, and frame 49 – 120 have a subtitle. When using realtime playback, everything is fine – but when I render the subtitle, frame 48 is duplicated, and all of the subtitled frames are off by one.
Sam thing happens if you color correct, or do anything involving rendering. Anyone else having this issue? Any known workarounds?
