    FCP 5.1 universal crashes, 4.5 does not

    I have a dual 1.42 power pc G4 and we’ve been running FCP 4.5 for a while and recently crossgraded to 5.1 universal to support Panasonic P2. I also tried updating to 5.1.4, but resulted in the same crashes.
    It won’t even open FCP 5.1 without crashing. I click on it and it goes through the motions, then just disappears. I have this same problem on my personal dual 867 G4 at home. I’m up to date on all apples pro application support downloads and everything else from apple that looks pro application related.
    Does anyone have a clue what is going on and why my new crossgrade is virtually useless.

    Have you simply updated or have you tried installing from scratch? And, which OS are you running?

    I’ve tried reinstalling 4.5 and upgrading again and I’ve tried just installing the 5.1 crossgrade. I’m running 10.4.9
