    hi everybody

i’ve been recording on my sound devices 744T location recorder for a test (i’m a soundman…), timecode was 24h run/ 25fps, audio files were bwav/ 24bit/48khz/ poly. ambient lock it boxes were used to sync with picture. picture recorded on a panasonic field recorder (p2, 6 slots), very new. picture was recorded 50p. in post, picture was handled as 25fps (batch process with cinema tools, no renedering necesarry, fcp then counts only minor or major numbers: 1-3-5-7…, depending on start of the picture file), then loaded into fcp (latest version), 25fps project.
They did this process to have better resolution with slowed down picture. import of audiofiles was no more hustle (new fcp can handle timecode of poly bwaw files), very easy. the problem is the following: sound had to be slowed down to 50% to match picture, timecodes are not usable any more, they only match at the beginning of the picture file (in points). is there a post-workaround to solve this issue?

greetings and thank you in advance

Clapper board. Might sound trite and od fashioned but it works.

Other alternative is to drop the files into a DAW that can sync the file timecode, do the varispeed and then output new bwavs with embedded code. However, when the pictures are run at half speed what happens to their timecode?
