    Hi,
I have a real puzzling problem:

    FCP 5.0.4 OS 10.4.4 QT 7.0.4 G5 2Ghz

I have my deck connected via Firewire and FCP won’t recognize the input.

In my Capture settings for DV 48K, Firewire is not even listed as an input option.

In the Audio/Video settings, Playback says “[Missing] Firewire…”

    What I’ve done:
    1. trashed prefs, restart. no dice
    2. I turned off the computer, unplugged for 5 minutes, replugged (as per an apple white paper that addresses a similar problem)
    3. Trashed about everything FCP related (I think) and reinstalled FCP and reinstalled the FCP update.
    4. I’ve tried multiple decks.

The thing is — iMovie works just fine and recognizes the Firewire. So, I *know* it’s a software issue and not hardware.

Anyone have a clue. Is there some file I don’t know about that i need to trash. Is thee a known conflict?

Note: I have a Black Magic card installed in this G5.

    thanks,
    james
