    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have spent the day trying to import IMX files via flip4Mac component v.2 software with no luck. I am using the sony pdw-v1 deck, and connecting to my G5 via an ethernet crossover cable. Communication between the deck and FCP 5.0.4 is fine, however as soon as I import files, FCP doesn’t respond.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙂

That’s interesting… I don’t have any experience with version 2 of the software but I do remember that you had to manually import all of the files into FCP after selecting them and giving them a location after the conversion to Quicktime. Maybe the software is still the same.

Here’s a question. Do you have the machine in another room? If not, just go to Sony’s website and you can now download the Mac & FCP software that will allow you to import directly using the firewire connection. The software is much better and easier to use, I think.

    Thanks,

The flip4mac software is still the same – manually choose files for import.
The machine is in the same room.

I believe that the software available through sony only works with 5.1.1.
    I am running FCP 5.0.4

Maybe this would be a good time to upgrade and a good reason. The upgrade is only $99.

yes, it’s a two week turnaround for a crossgrade in NZ – A long time
to hold a client off. Any workarounds would be appreciated 🙂
