[isoprophlex] “This is happening with and without wacom. “

Be advised that the Wacom tablet uninstaller does not actually uninstall everything. You need to remove all tablet related files in the following directories:

    Applications
    Library/PreferencePanes
    Library/Preferences
    Library/StartupItems

Restart with the tablet disconnected. Once I did this, moving the mouse would briefly pause shuttling, but would not make it hang. It would be great if you could verify this behavior.

[isoprophlex] “Problem is that editors do not realize that they are moving the mouse when their pen hoovers over the tablet.”

Absolutely. Decreasing the “range” of the tablet would help, if that were possible. We probably need to get Wacom involved in this…

    Thanks

Unfortunately i think its a problem related to the OS…
Anyone have 10.3.9 and fcp 5?

This is a big big big problem that can drive a person nuts if they dont know that they are making the problem worse by continuing to hit buttons and drive fcp into a tailspin of lockup….

Can we please put the pressure on Apple to correct this….

    i am curious,

How exactly do we put the pressure on Apple? Besides sending user feedback.

i guess call up applecare or their enterprise number (if your know it), get in touch with a tech and complain.

(they will pretend that they have never heard of this problem before)

Annoying. Yes they can be reordered by your transfer house but this feature in FCP is broken…. do they not care to fix it?

apparently there aren’t enough of us that need this feature to work for Apple to care about it. I just open the EDL in Word and drag each event where it needs to go, but it’s definitely a feature they should just eliminate if they’re not going to make it work.

my thoughts exactly… apple video support claims that “well fcp is not meant to do this, but uh cinema tools can” … “but sorry i cant give you support for cinema tools,” that is a separate support purchase…

i get a feeling that he simply had no answer and to do anything in cinema tools you need to start with an edl generated in FCP…
i don’t appreciate being lied to by them.

as ive said here before sadly, apple’s video support is simply useless and their help offering is that of reading the manual to you…
    (if your lucky).
