FCP 5.0 black screen

kona2I have some 720 59.94 HD footage on my system. When I’m playing the footage it looks great in the record viewer, but when I park the timeline cursor the screen turns black. Even if I move at single frame increments, the screen is still black.
Any suggestions???

the record viewer? you mean the Canvas after placing clips in a sequence? Are you having to render these clips in the sequence? or? How do they playback in the Viewer?

Yes…the canvas after placing the clips in the sequence.

No…they fit perfectly in the sequence….“How do they playback in the Viewer?”
They play fine in the Viewer.
Also all the 1080 frequence play fine in both the Canvas and my HD monitor.
My ouput setting from the card match my sequences.Hope you have more suggestions

try to go to the Sequence Settings and the Render Control Tab and switch the Codec from “same as sequence codec” to ProRes
worked for me, hope this helps
