    FCP 5 upgrade to 6 without FCP 5 software?

    Hello

    Currently using FCP 5.1.4…but I’m going to sell the laptop it’s on, and want to install FCP 6/Studio 2 on a new MAc Pro I hope to get soon. Question is in order to pay for only an upgrade copy and install that on the Mac Pro (which will have no previous FCP on it) do I just need the FCP 5.1.4 serial # and not the actual software on the machine for the FCP 6 to properly install? Or what is recommended best to do?

    You need the serial #, not the software.
