FCP 5, Tiger using Deckink Sp with latest drivers for Decklink. Using 8 bit uncompressed capture, in Log and Capture, I log a clip, batch capture, computer appears to capture the clip, click DONE and then find that the clip still has the RED SLASH saying it is offline ! Check the capture scratch and the Quicktime file which has been captured cannot be opened by Quicktime, saying it is a file which cannot be recognised.

    Anybody experienced similar ??

(Have also Final Cut Studio on separate drive with 10.3.9 and this works ok, apart from not having Livetype installed since I had inadvertently partioned without leaving quite enough space and which lead me to install Tiger and Final Cut Studio onto my second internal SATA on a 100GB partition.)

    Hi John,

I also have Decklink SP and the latest drivers, and I get capture weirdness that’s different.. Sometimes I get a no video alert in the capture window, sometimes not.

Also, I don’t get the new clip settings, how sometimes it captures with 8 or 10 audio tracks, all except the top two are empty.

But I have other problems. Video is intermitint, it seems to kick itself off of all frames. Also, I get the same pixelization a lot of folks are seeing and have to turn sequence settings field dominance to none and that fixes it.

This is the third attempt to get this all to work, an upgrade install and two erase and installs, all with the same result. FCP% just isn’t working.

All the rest of Studio seems to work, although I haven’t reallt tested Motion much.

Running 10.3.9 and the Decklink is a no no… either run 10.3.8 with it’s driver, or 10.4.1 with it’s driver…

can you advise please what specific problems might I encounter using 10.3.9 ? Apple say this is the minimum requirements for FCP5.
