FCP 5 problems
I got a 24″ imac Mac Intel Core Duo w/ 2GB RAM, and I still can’t use the REWIND/FF slider or the thing that looks like a dial without the spinning beach ball. My source file is 704 x 480. Is this normal?

It’s not normal with standard video files. Sounds like your’s aren’t…
Disk drive speeds really matter here too I’d think. and external FW drive may not be fast enough for this behavior to work right on an odd video file. An internal drive definately would be cranky with it.
