I am a novice/beginner w/FCP. I have done extensive editing using Sony Vegas so editing itself is not new to me just this particular software.

I have a project loaded, clips in timeline etc.

All footage is DVCPRO HD 960×720

What settings for my sequence or what is the trick so I can preview in real time and not have to run a render with every minute little change i make?

I am using no effects whatsoever just the footage and for the life of me I can’t get my sequence footage in the timeline to play for me without having to do a render.

I am sure this is a setting somewhere i have incorrect as I cannot believe FCP would mkae you render and not let you edit in real time w/real time previews as you edit.

Help a newbie retard someone? *LOL*

You must make sure that ALL the parameters of your sequence ar exactly the same that your clips setting. If you didn’t capture your footage with FC, start to check in the Brownser if FC has interpreted properly the footage(size. field-order, pixel aspect..).
