    Hi all,

I’m stuck. I’m trying to capture audio only from a sound booth into FCP 5.1.2 and a Kona LHe capture card.

I have made a new Capture setting with audio only, deselected Video in the clip settings in the log and capture box and set the Kona Control Panel to Analog. And also selected non-controllable device.

Here’s the issue. FCP is seeing the audio because the meters are moving, but when I hit Capture Now and then esc, nothing comes up. It’s not capturing anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? I’ve tried unplugging other firewire devices and that has had no affect.

Can’t help you with the Kona-specific issue but go ahead and capture audio and video and then delete the video. Even if you’re recording twenty hours of voice over, you should have a couple of gigs for the video.

    Figure out the glitch later.

I tried that and FCP hiccups and says, can’t capture because there is no video. Weird, huh?

We use an AJA Io LD. I have my Mackie Mixer feeding my inputs on the Sony SX machine. Our booth comes though the mixer via the analog inputs on the front of the deck & SDI out back to the AJA.

You have to capture video too when capturing audio with a Kona card because it needs a video signal for reference. Go check it out on the Kona forum if you don’t believe me, this was discussed there only yesterday, you should have no trouble finding it.

Figured it out. Wasn’t the video at all, which was weird. All I did was deselect the “Capture Audio and Video To Separate Files” button and it worked fine. Not sure why? Maybe it did have something to do with sending video to a different drive. Anyway, thanks for all the help…I appreciate it!
