    Hello all-

Just installed FCP 5.01 and OS 10.4.1 and our most critical font, Adobe Garamond, which is used extensively in many old FCP 4.5 projects is not displayed properly. Should be showing up as regular but is displayed as italics when using the text generator in FCP. This applies to titles created in FCP 4.5 and new ones in v.5. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Motion are all capable of properly displaying the font.

I’ve tried the usual stuff, trash prefs, repair permissions, even re-installed the font, all to no avail.

    Thoughts?

FCP uses only the TT or truetype versions of the fonts installed. I would use fontbook to make sure you have the TT version of the Garamond font installed.

Well I thought it was a TT font but appearently it is Postscript Type 1. Funny thing is, other PostScript Type 1’s work perfect in the text generator. Also, the same version of the Garamond font worked flawlessly in 4.5. What gives?

I would chalk this up to the oddities of upgrading.

I can’t explain this one at all.
