Whenever I leave FCP 4.5 to do work in another app (Motion), FCP gets incredibly SLOW and difficult to control, usually forcing a restart of my system. This is a tedious way to work. Does anyone have this problem/know the solution?

    Thanks!

Add more RAM. FCP maxes out at 2GB which is what you have listed in your machine. I run 3GB and 4GB respectively in both of my G5’s.

Also, if you’re trying to run FCP 4.5 while Motion is running / rendering in the background, FCP WILL be very slow.

Got it. I’ve been suspecting a RAM problem. Thanks so much for your reply!
