    FCP 4.5 crashing when Firewire connected

    Hi,

    I’m trying to master a program to Mini DV. When I start up FCP 4.5 with the Firewire cable connected it crashes on start up. If I disconnect then launch it starts fine. I have repaired permissions, re installed OS 10.3.8 and trashed preferences. Has anyone had this problem. Any help greatly appreciated 🙂

    1 X Dual 2GHZ G5
    2.5 GIG RAM
    1 X Decklink Pro
    1 X UL3D SCSI CARD
    2 X SEAGATE 10K 136 GIG SCSI Drives Software RAID
    FCP 4.5, DVD SP 3, AE 5.5, Photoshop 7, Motion

    Yes. It usually means either a dodgy firewire connection or cable.

    Thanks for the response. Yes after much tracking down i worked out that it was the firewire cable and replaced it… weird?
