    Hi everybody,

I’m using powerbookG4 1.25 ghz with 15GB free space and sony vx 2100E ( pal version)
After capturing the video looks like is missing every third frame or it doesn’t look smooth. In “imovie” it looks perfect.

    My FCP audio/video settings are:

    sequence presets= DVPAL 48khz

    Frame Size: 720 x 576 Pixels
    Editing Timebase: 25 fps
    Field Dominance: Lower (Even)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: PAL – CCIR 601
    Anamorphic 16:9: Off
    Video Processing: YUV allowed (8-bit)
    White Point: White

    Compressor: DV – PAL
    Millions of Colors (24 bit)
    No Data Rate Limit
    No Keyframes Set
    Quality: 100

    Audio Settings:
    16-bit 48.000 kHz Stereo
    ————————————

    capture presets= DV PAL 48khz

Using DV Video for video input
    Canon DV using PAL
    25 frames per second
DV – PAL at Best quality.
    24 bits per pixel
    720 by 576
Using DV Audio for audio input
    Input: First 2 channels
    Rate: 48.000 kHz
    Speaker: off
    Volume: 100, Gain: 0
    ———————————-

    device control preset= FireWire PAL

    Protocol: Apple FireWire
    Time Source: DV Time
    Frame Rate: 25
Use Non-Drop frame timecode by default
Do not use deck search mechansism
    Pre-roll: 3 seconds
    Post-roll: 3 seconds
    Capture Offset: 0.000 frames
    Handle Size: 00:00:00:00
    Playback Offset: 00:00:00:00
    ——————————————

    a/v devices

    video= apple fw PAL (720×576)
    audio=fw DV
    ——————————————

What I’m doing wrong? There are nobody to help me
out…so if you know the solution or any help will be
    apriciate.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you
    soon.
    Sincerely

    donJANY.

It sounds like a field issue although your setting seem correct. It my be worth changing your fields from “even” to “odd” as a test (although for DV it should be “even”).
Are you viewing it on an output monitor or simply the computer, as to clearly see field issues it needs to be a TV monitor.
    Cheers
