    how can I have FCP 4.5 & 5.04 on the same machine. Why ? well some client have 4.5 and others have 5.04 .
    I would love to know how to this on a dual GS and also my powerbook .

    Best to have two partitions, one with each version. But you can have two on one partition, just as long as you move and rename the FCP 4.5 version to something else when you install 5.0 so that it doesn’t overwrite it. Then name it back and move it back.

    Funny, I was just looking into how to do this also. I tried going into applications, renaming FCP, and dragging the file out of the applications folder, but the install still wanted to upgrade. Eventually did the same thing to Compressor, LiveType, SoundTrack, DVDSP, & Cinema Tools and dragged all of them to the desktop. Still no go. So then I tried renaming and moving the FCP System Support Folder as well as the, LiveType, DVDSP, & GarageBand folders from the Library to the desktop. No go. Finally tried renaming and moving the FCP Additional Easy Setups folder from the main area in the Macintosh HD. That didn
