    Hi!
I have an iMac DV model with Final Cut Pro 1.2.5. Decided to make use of it again.
But how is it with capture of footage from new cameras. Like DVX100 or XL 2?!
That could be a problem, couldn`t it? Is there a way to solve the problem, if there is a problem?

    Simple solution,

Dump 1.2.5 and upgrade to 4.5 immediately. Why work with an application that is long outdated and no longer worth the hassle and disappointments?

    Just my .02 cents worth,

i dont think there will be a problem.

give it a go and see.

if you find you like this editing thing, then think about upgrading to 4.5

The thing is – I can`t afford a new mac. My iMac is an iMac DV 99 model, and the processor can`t handle the 4.5 version (as you all know). Therefor I was wondering if I could import footage from new cameras via the FireWire port, and if there would be any problem with the clips in FCP 1.2.5; regarding to sound, synch, etc. I will try, and if it doesn`t work, I will save my money and wait for a new iMac and the Production Suite upgrade.
