I have a landscape video where I’d like to isolate only the road that is winding through a mountain, and delete everything else. How do I do this? I’ve searched with a variety of keywords but I’m not finding any solutions. Thank you in advance.

hi there, not sure you can do masking in FPX, but you can definately do it in after effects if you have that?

    Hi Melvin,

Yes, you can mask in Final Cut Pro. There is the manual method: you can use the draw mask effect and keyframe it. Now, with the latest update to Final Cut Pro, you may try the Magnetic Mask option. If that works well, it will be very easy and quick. These are free options. Of course, there are some paid plug-ins if these two do not work.
