I’m using FCE v 2.03, QT Pro 6.5.2 and OS 10.3.9. So, here’s my problem: my project keeps getting lost, corrupted or whatever. It just won’t open. I don’t get any warning that this is going to happen, I launch FCE (usually the next day) and it’s gone. When I try to open it, I get I/O error or general error, but that tells me nothing. I know this rather vague, however I’m completely mystified, don’t even know where to look and I need someone to point me in a direction!

    Thanks

I use the pro version of FCP but I would imagine that FCE uses an autosave vault for project backup unless you don’t have this option checked in your preferences. I would do a Finder search for Autosave Vault and then see if you can find a folder that has your project in it. Try opening the most recent one and see what happens. It is possible the file you are trying to open is corrupt.

You might also try running disk permissions just in case this isn’t a FCP problem. Run Disk Utility which is found in your utilities folder on the HD.

    Good Luck
