I’m a newbie, so be patient. I am using FCE, and during capture the video pauses, the audio continues, and when I watch in the viewer, there is clear audio/video tear. This just started happening last night!!! I am using FCE 3.0 with a 2.0 GHz imac G5 and an external LaCie 250 gig hard drive. I am having to baby sit the capture and esc after every freeze. THIS IS DRIVING ME BONKERS!!! Any advice?? Thanks for the help!

Do not capture to the boot drive or the same drive that the application is on.

    Check your disk space.

Rewire your Firewire if you are capturing to an external drive.

Thanks for the reply. I am saving to the external hard drive and have 59.9 gigs left and I feel pretty sure that I am not saving to the internal hard drive. I have the captures scratch set to the external. I have two firewire ports… 1 for the hard drive the other for my Panasonic PV-GS300. This has worked like a chram for the past 15 jobs that I have done. Not sure what to do… other than to export what I have to my desktop and erase the external and start over. Thoughts?
