FCE 4 and Sony GV-HD700
Hi,
I cannot get Final Cut Express 4 to recognize the Sony GV-HD700 deck when using it in DV mode, although it does recognize it in the HDV mode. Also, when I try to capture in HDV mode I do not get the usual capture window; I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to capture HDV as if it was going to capture in “Capture Now” mode. Never seen that before. This is not my system and the owner is using DV footage. Looked through the Sony manual, changed the Sony menu settings and Easy setup, searched the web and here and cannot find an answer to the DV problem.

Don’t know the exact processor specs but the machine is an Intel iMac with 512mb of memory, which will be increased soon.
