FCE 2 starting/running slow and General Error
I’ve got a project due for a customer by Sunday so I’m hoping someone has an answer to this. When I start FCE lately it seems to take forever, literally several minutes. It seems like it has to render clips that it never had to render before (it could do them on the fly) and when I am trying to export my file to QT it runs for a while and then just comes up with the message General Error. No error number or anything.
I’m currently doing a simple slideshow. A lot of pictures (over 1300) and I just can’t figure out what is causing this to run so slow or come up with the error, but I’m almost out of time to get this project done. FCE has always been a rock before, but it just seemed slow since I got back from a recent trip. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

Whenever I run into General Error I toss my preferences and thumbnail cache…seems to do the trick.
