FC 5.1.4 to 6.0 issue
Today I opened a FC 5.1.4 sequence in FC 6.0. I’ve done this many times with out any incident. Since I’ve done this successfully I’ve added 2GB of RAM to my G5 and a Kona 3 card. Everything is running fine.
Like I said, today I opened a 5.1.4 sequence, saved a copy (all media was on this external HD too) and it seemed to open fine. In playback, some clips would not show up. The sequence kept playing, but some clips, actually most, played back black. I rendered (some were green), same result. I tried to match frame on the missing clips and it pulled up the proper clip (I think, they were black, so I’m not 100%). Sometimes it played in the viewer, sometimes not.
In addition to the black clip issue, a couple clips were all pixilated. Timeline seemed ok, no rendering necessary. I launched the sequence (the original, not the copy) on another machine and it was fine.
We’re all very confused. I’ve never seen this before on my system or any other.
Any ideas?
