Hello all. I am in the process of picking up two 8TB Xraids, the 2gig Fibre Versions. A lot of high end places are running similar systems like this in parallel to create one giant fast SAN for onlineing 2k and getting 2gig Ethernet (cat6) through a facility.

This might be out of a typical SAN question, but can you do that with a 4 channel Fibre card and two Xraids? Having the two XRAIDS acting as one Giant faster Xraid?
Using an Xserver or Apple G5/Intel?

If you have two Xserve Raids connected to one computer and you create one RAID out of the two of them, then you should be able to get speeds of 300MB/sec+.

Why are you buying obsolete hardware for the future of your company? Apple no longer makes, sells or services these units? Apple ceased production on these units last year.

I can assure that you will get better performance from a new SAS array from MAXX, Dulce, Cinetec or 4G fibre solutions from Dulce or G-Tech
