Faster way to duplicate an existing title
Now that I have returned to PPro CS4 after a long stint with Sony Vegas, I am looking for a way to speed up my workflow on a project that requires many titles, most of which are very similar with only slight changes/additions to the next new one. By the way, I find the titler in PPro far superior to both titlers provided in Vegas Pro 9. However, duplicating an existing title and then modifying the contents was very quick in Vegas – control drag the existing one to a new location on the timeline. That opens up a choice of either making the duplicate one either another copy or a new one or based upon the original one. To do this in PPro I have to open the existing one in the Titler window, click the “New Title based on Current” button, rename the new title, make the change and then drag it to the timeline. Is there a quicker way to do this in PPro. Could not get the control drag method to work. Anyone?

The only way to speed that up would be to create a keyboard shortcut for the “New title based on current” action.

You can duplicate title in the project and make any changes you need, then duplicate the title in the timeline (if you have any additional transitions, keyframes, etc.) and holding ALT drag&drop your new title from the project to the duplicated title in the timeline.
