    Hi!

I am using Vegas since v3 and as the software becomes more powerfull, the computer has to follow it. And thats what I have been doing.
But since I started to work with m2t files, of course there was a lack of speed, specialy in the frame rate preview.
I have a Phenom X4 9650 2,3ghz and it seems it is not enough. I will also change to 64bits expecting that will help.
What are the most important things a processor must have to work fast with V9.64? Someone told me it is cache?? Is that right? I am a bit confused. AMD or Intel?
    Thanks and regards to all,

Right now Intel makes the fastest processors by a wide margin over AMD. The Intel Quad Cores are still faster than the AMD 6 cores.

Get in Intel Core-i7 920 and at least 6GB of RAM (12 if you can afford it).

I read on Tom’s Hardware that the fastest AMD 1090 was faster at rendering than the Intel i7 920 (in Main Concept) any thoughts? I have been considering that over the i7’s..

    Thanks!
What about the cache? Does it realy matters a lot?? Intel processors have more chache na Amds….

But Amd has 6 x512 cache and Intel has 8meg….And I am moe interest in the frame rate during preview where I guess cache is more important than in rendering speed.

I wasn’t impressed with what I read on the new AMD processors. From what I remember, sometimes the AMD 6 core was faster than the Intel 4 cores but sometimes it wasn’t. It wasn’t anywhere near Intel’s 6 core. The Intel Core i7 920 is very overclockable. I have a friend that is running it very stable at 3.8Ghz on air. That is impressive (and I’ll bet a whole lot faster than AMD’s 6 core’s will go). I’m stickin’ with Intel for the foreseeable future but that’s just me.
