Running an HP 2.8 Ghz, 1gig of RAM, XPMedia SP2 and PPro 1.0.
I want to accelerate rendering, MPEG2 encoding, xport to DVD and other processes. I uses a few filters (mostly blurs and minor color correction) and very few overlay effects or slo-mo.
Any advice? I am considering an Nvidia or ATI graphics card (I would like “client approval” monitoring).
    1) Can PPro 1.0 take advantage of AGPs?
    2) If so, which will make my system faster?
    3) Any other tricks to making the processes listed above move along faster?

    Thanks in advance,
    David

You could definitely upgrade your CPU and memory. That would help. Version 1.0 does not support gpu acceleration.

Blurs do take a lot of processing power. If you are using magic bullet that is pretty slow also. Unless you are using the newest version which does support gpu. In that case a better graphics card would help.
