In Vegas is quite time consuming having to insert text using only visual cues, for example:

    1. Inserting new text media requires to choose presets instead of having a default style on the go.

    2. No keyboard shortcut for “Insert Text Media…”

    3. Copying and pasting existing Text in the timeline requires clicking on the “Generated Media…” icon to start editing the new instance.

Is there a way to simplify or speed-up this process?

Keyboard shortcuts, third party plugins? Please give your thoughts.

    Thank you.

I’m sure there are better ways of doing it, but I save some “generic” text events, complete with transitions, pan-crop, effects etc., in a junk project.

I then open up that project, and the project I am working on, it two instances.

I can then copy entire tracks from the junk project into the one I am working on.

Then, in the production project, I make heavy use of copy/paste for the media generator events when a need a new one. That way all I have to do is type in new text and possibly re-position.

Would welcome ideas on this myself … I think VAAST has these features.

    Hi Stephen,

I’m with you all the way, copy pasting pan/crop defined styles into present media events is a huge time saver.

What remains to bee seen is a batch replace for font styles, since they don’t change as the rest of the event attributes.

And most importantly a keyboard shortcut to insert text media where the cursor is and start typing right away. Not to mention having a font style preset enabled by default.
