fantom drives
Just over a year ago, I had serious issues with file corruption & general unreliability pertaining to a Fantom Firewire drive, hooked up to my G5.
I found a post on Apple support (since deleted) which indicated that some Firewire drives were not communicating well with the latest OS. I retired the drive, and am wondering if it is safe to bring it back – does anyone have any insight into compatibility issues with this manufacturer’s drives and Panther?

Many of the manufacturers had firmware updates for their Firewire drives to resolve issues like you speak of. Fantom does not seem to have not kept their website up-to-date (bad sign), but maybe this will help you: https://www.micronet.com/support/fw_panther_comp.asp
