family documentary
Hi all,
I am working on my family documentary. I have shot interview footage at 720p. I have alot more interviews left. I am thinking of switching from 720p to 1080p. I shoot using the hvx200. I know that the 1080p in that camera is not true 1080p. My reasoning for wanting to change is that most TV’s that are being sold these days are 1080p and I want the best resolution possible with this project.
My question, how much better is the 1080p then 720p with this camera. I have been told that the 720 p is actually better with this camera and that it is better to shoot with the 720p and then up convert to 1080 in compressor. But if I up convert then I am worrying about the extra noise.
I was told that the 720p image of camera up converted to 1080p is better then if I were to shoot 1080 out of this camera.
If I was going to shoot the rest of the project in 1080 then I will have to up convert the other interviews to 1080p.
So, I just need to know what is going to be the best to film the rest of the project. I want the best image with less noise. Do I shoot 720p or 1080p.
Thanks,
Steve
