    Hi,
For a project I’m working on I need to create layers of falling fruit and vegetables. It’s possible to do this by hand, but that would take a while, because I probably end up with a few hundred layers.
Is there a quick way to do this with a few different photoshop files and give it a random look?

    Thanks in advance!

a particle system would do this rather easily. trapcode’s particular would be pretty easy if you have that effect and the images are just stills (you can use animations, but they are a bit trickier to set up and all animations need to be the same length).

you would stagger each still image in a single comp, one frame each. then bring that into a new comp (and hide it), add a solid with particular, set the image comp as the particle source (random still) and you’ll be about a half dozen settings away from raining fruits and veggies.

cc particle world can do it too, in a similar way (create a comp for particle images and use it as a custom particle), but your staggered image particle comp will have to be still images and longer (or use time remapping and a loopOut() expression).

    Hi Kevin,

That’s what I was thinking. I played around with particular and cc particle world, but it doesn’t give me the control I want. So I did it by hand. Took me more than a day, but I got the desired result. But thanks for your respond though!
