  • Fake interactive tv (red button) effect?

Posted by Afrancis on May 24, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Hi i just done a commercial for a student project and i would like to present it with a press the red button effect which will link the watcher as if it was really on TV to see an interactive pretend screen following on from the ad. I want to know how i can add an interface. I though that id have a red button which would glow as if it would be pressed and then a few seconds later a screen would come up etc.. so my question is how can i add it?

You can start building the buttons in Photoshop, or you can do something simple in FC. Take a Solid Color (red) Matte, crop it.. Then animating a Glow you can fake the effect of the flashing button.

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

Thanks for your reply, the glowing effect is good which i was going to use. Let me give you abit more detail , i have created a mini booklet in flash and saved it as a movie file. what i want to do now is add it to the end of my advert that simulates the viewer to make it look like the red button has been pressed and the flash file comes up. I was gona have a glowing redbutton that says something like. “red button loading…” and then the flash file comes up over the video footage. Therefore it looks like an interactive thing. I was considering adding some more “fake” stuff to make it look more authentic like a “submit your email address to find out more” and a box following it.

Export your Flash movie with the same parameters of your Fc sequence, so ou won’t need to re-render it.
With FC, a bit of imagination and patience..
