I’m running a MAC Pro OSX (10.5.8) 2X2.66 Dual Core, 4G RAM and I work off of an internal stripped RAID, 4 Seagate 750G/7200 HDs.

A year or so ago I noticed FCP would randomly give me spinwheel, though especially if I would switch back to the program from another one (occasional crashes). I started to notice it in the Finder when I would switch over to it and select a folder. And now my Finder often freezes when I try to use it to move large files (though Carbon Copy Cloner works fine).

After a moment or two I finally hear a click in the tower and a spike on my data write graph in the Activity window. I’ve been noticing more programs crashing. I run Disk Warrior and Apple Jack and they say my HD’s are OK.

    Any thoughts? Much appreciated.
