Here’s one that has me slightly stumped.

I have an interview with a lower third on it. I made the lower third using boris and have a mask over the video for some black under the name. The shot is longer then I need the lower third to appear so I fade out the text. But how do I fade out the mask? I’ve tried adding key frames and shrinking it but it doesn’t look right. Is there a way to add opacity to a mask so I can keyframe it to fade out?

Put the clip (or section of it) that you are dissolving TO… on a video track above the ones with the mask and title.

Dissolve in (keyframe or effect) the upper clip, thereby covering the lower clips and effects.

I actually just figured it out. I put a cut in the video track in the spot when the fade starts in the lower third. Then I take off the mask filter and fade between the mask and no mask shot starting on the edit with the same length of dissolve as the lower third.

    Thanks for the response though.
