Fading in and out of composition
I’m an AE user trying to figure out Motion 5. A producer I’m working with wants to try and leverage Motion 5 templates for some of our smaller video projects. One template I’m working with is in 3D. I can’t seem to figure out how to do a simple fade in and fade out at the front and end of the video. I’ve tried creating a black solid and fading it up and down, but the solid is moving with the camera and I can’t seem to make it a 2D layer that stays on top of all the other layers within the composition. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Put it in a 2D group at the top level. 2D groups are not affected by lights or cameras.
