  • Fading greyscale static images in and out (problem)

Posted by Sukisa on February 15, 2007 at 5:57 pm

I am having problems with fading a greyscale image in and out. I am using opacity from 0-100-0 in a 3 second time span. In the rendered project I am getting a gradiant effect in the transition (circular in shape) as the image appears and dissapears. I would like to acheive a smooth image fading in and out of the composition. Should I be using an effect instead?

    Thank-You, Sukisa

Using transparency to create a fade is dependent upon the underlying layers and some effects that modify alpha channels. You may be able to simply precompse the layer, place a black solid under it and create your fade in the upstream comp.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

you also may want to set the transfer mode for both layers to alpha add
