    Noob question:
    I want to make a reflective floor that fades into the background, something everyone but me seems to have figrued out. I’ve done it before by fading it in photoshop but i’d like to get away from that as this is going to be animated.

    I’ve tried using a floor object and using a gradient as alpha, but that doesnt work so nice. maybe im setting up the gradient wrong(white to black vertical gradient, simple? . Also, ive tried setting up a HUGE plane and using as a floor but, not so nice either…

    Depends on the look you are going for and what the background is. Totally simple would be a 2D Circular gradient in Alpha, white to black, control size with Length X and Length Y in the Material Tag, or a 3D Sperical Gradient where size and placement could be controlled in the Gradient dialog.
