  • fade on video and audio at same time?

Posted by Glenn Woiler on July 20, 2005 at 12:23 am

Hi. I am just a casual user of FCP and wanted to know if there was a way to apply a dissolve to the end of a clip and have a fade applied to the audio at the same time? Is that possible?

    Thanks, Glenn

    Glenn,

Option click on the rubbeband on the audio waveform to create two keyframes near the end and drag the first one down to the bottom. Or you can apply a crossfade audio transition and set it’s duration to whatever you like. This last will require enough handles on the clip tho.

    Hi

A co-worker that does not use FCP that much was grumbling about this and I thought to ask here. I thought that there might be a way that when you apply a fade/dissolve to the video that maybe there was an option for it to fade the audio at the same time. Some apps do this but I don’t use FCP that much except for making color corrections and compressing for DVD Studio Pro.
