Fade in from Black Problem
Hi, When I import video to Encore from Premiere 6.5, that contains a fade-in from black, very often there will be a frozen image (artifact?) of the first frame of video before the fade-in that’s transparent over the black, instead of pure black. I usually try adding a few seconds of “Black Video” within Premiere before the crossfade to the video. Also, does it make a difference if my first image after the fade-in is a still, rather than video? Thanks in advance!

Uncheck “Optimize Stills” in Premiere’s AVI export dialog, then re-export to AVI and try it in Encore again.
This assumes that you are using a version of Encore prior to 2.0- if you are using 2.0, then something else is amiss.
