“fade” from one AI layer to another in After Effects
Hello all
A question. Imagine. I made an illustrator file for a character looking left, and for a character looking straight & right (this due to some aspects like perspective, shadows on the ear etc).
I want it to look natural, when going Hans moves his head. Maybe I’m doing this completely wrong, but what would be the best way of achieving this?vkr

Sorry, can you include more detail of what you’re trying to do? Are you trying to create an animation of your character turning his head from left to right using three stills?

Ehm, let mee see. Actually, it are 2 stills. One for looking to the left, one straight. I was wondering wether there would be a way to make the paths fade smoothly into each other like mask paths, or a bit less smooth.
Now I’m playing with Opacity, but it just isn’t smooth (obviously with only 2 frames) -

There are some styles of animation that you could play with, but if you’re looking realism, I agree with Dave.
