  • Extruded Text has no texture?

Posted by Kevin Lane on September 11, 2009 at 5:41 pm

    Hi,

I’ve recently reformatted my PC and upon installing AE CS4 and BCC 6.0 when I create extruded text it no longer has any texture on it, just basic colours.

I’ve tried everything to solve this to no avail.

    I hope you can help!

    Hi,

Well firstly you should download the latest update to the BCC software from our web site at borisfx.com. Just download the current trial version and it will automatically find and use the license that was installed on your system.

Secondly, you need to manually select a texture file – you can do this in the filter by selecting a preset texture or by using a layer from the timeline.

Here’s a tutorial that might help:

    Cheers,

Ok, I’ve updated to the latest version now, but I’m still experiencing the same issue.

Everything else in AE works just fine.

Could this be something to do with Windows 7?

It might be related to Windows 7 but I’m not entirely sure. I think the best option at this stage is for you to open up a support case by either calling in or emailing our support department. Once of the tech support specialists can assist you in understanding, and hopefully resolving, the issue.

You can reach them via email at support@borisfx.com or via phone at 1 888 77boris (888.772.6747)

    Cheers,

    Peter.
