i have a text object as a child of extrude nurbs object to create 3d text. i would like the text to have a metal look and applied a metal material to the extrude nurbs object but for some reason only the z depth is absorbing the material. the front of the text doesnt seem to be altered. what do i need to do?

is there anything in the scene to reflect off the front of the text (and give you an indication it’s working)? If not, a white reflecting surface with nothing to reflect won’t appear any different than an untextured object. You can put things in to reflect or put an image or noise in the reflection or environment channel to make it look ‘reflective’. If that’s not it I’d probably have to look at the scene to get an idea of what’s going on.
