    Hello everybody,

I’m having a very strange problem, and am up against a tight deadline. I hope someone can help.

We’re editing a 30 second spot from 140 minutes of footage. The footage was captured on a Decklink card off site, and brought here, where we also have a Decklink system. The files were editing from are quite large (95 and 65 gigs, if it’s of any interest).

What we did was load the footage in Premiere, select scenes from the rushes and edit the spot. We did this by setting in and out points on our “source” screen, and dragging the selected portions into our bin. This way we get to name the clips which helps us keep organized.

So here’s the problem. The spot plays perfectly from our timeline, but when we export to any format (be it file, DVD, whatever) SOME of the clips in our ad don’t correspond with what is seen on our monitor when we simply play what is on our timeline. In short, it seems when we export, premiere isn’t respecting our in and out points, and shifts them to some random point.

This disparity with what is seen on our timeline, and what is exported has never happened to us before. If anyone has had this problem and can help, it would be a lifesaver.

I’d try to to a Project Manager clean up and have the system chop up all the edits you’ve made into separate clips. Then open the new trimmed project and export from there. Make sure you add some handles so you have a little flexibility for any alts you might need to make.
Not sure why its slipping. The single file of that length of video is uncommon and may be causing the issue. Black Magic drivers should be upto date too.

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?
