I’m working with 2x3Ghz Quad Core Processors, 4GB DDR Ram, running 10.4.11 on a MacPro. I am having a problem with exporting 8-bit Uncompressed HD 1920×1080 sequences. My 1st export try took 4 hours for one Reel of 12minutes. This was very unusual compared to the times it has taken in the past which are much shorter. I then decided to do a batch export for the remaining 6 reels and leave for the day and return on today. The machine is still exporting! And its ONLY on REEL 3 of 7! It is not frozen, its actually still moving very slowly. It has moved 1% in the 45 minutes I’ve been here. I’ve already tried restarting and deleting preferences and plists and am confused about this problem. If someone could advise me to what is wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Tyler Dixon

You’d need to tell us why you’re exporting and what the source/original format is. If exporting is is also transcoding to a different codec, this can take ages. If you’re exporting using Compressor from within FCP, that can take ages. Source disk and target disk capacities can also factor.
    More information, please.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
