January 23, 2008 at 2:41 amIf you are asking if the camera works in extreme climates…yes it does. It was used to tape the Ididarod dog sled race two years in a row (coming up on a third) in very cold weather, it was used to shoot a documentary in the Amazon jungle, where humidity shuts down tape mechanisms, and has been used in the extreme Arizona heat without a hitch.
No more melted tapes.

March 27, 2008 at 5:57 pmShane,
I’m going to Nome for a shoot with an HVX 200.
Is there a camera sleeve you can get for the HVX, or are those pocket warmer things required to keep it warm?
Thanks,
PL

March 27, 2008 at 7:22 pmSearch me. I’m and editor, not a shooter. Plus I haven’t shot in extreme climates. Well, not in a while anyway. Montana winters aren’t as bad as Alaska, but I did have the Chinook winds to deal with…10 below. I was shooting with an Ikegami at the time…and didn’t get much shooting done before the camera shut down.
