    Hello All,
My setup is decklink Extreme os10.3.6 g4 dual1.25, 1.5 gig RAM. FCP 4.5. Huge Media VAult Dual Channel1.2 TB. Have been using this system with Digibeta and SDI to capture and lay off no problem. Today I captured via Component from a PVW2800. I am having trouble laying off. The audio keeps cutting in and out. Video is fine.

Well Almost. capture was fine. Though when Monitoring video from the deck the image is slowly cycling. like the tracking is off just slightly. despite this glitch in the video monitoring When I playback the tape it is fine. So I think it is an issue between my monitor and the deck.

Back to the Audio. I have laid off the video to tape and all is well, but the audio just won’t go down. it will work for a bit then cut out.

I had already output the 20min show as a QT movie in the BMD 8-bit codec. Tried ouputting audio only didn’t seem to work. I guess I will try making an audio only version and see if that works.

Can Anyone help. I have no idea what is going on. And I have to return the deck tomorrow morning which is quickly approaching.
    Thank You

    Hello all,
I must appologize for the late night panic post. I resolved my issue. It turns out there dropout was on the Quicktime I rendered out. The missing audio appeared to be there in the waveform overlay, but when I cleared the cache I saw that there were in deed areas missing audio. I simply re-exported the audio portion and the problem was solved.
My BMD gear performed wonderfully. As usual it appears to have been a little bit of human error combined with buggy beavior on the part of my FCP system.
    thanks

    Hi Grant,

Sorry no one got back to you at the time but thank you for posting the solution to your problem as that might help someone else with a “late night panic”. It’s great when answers to problems are posted here by people who have worked it out themselves. It’s really valuable to be able to search this forum for similar problems and even more valuable to find the solutions!

    Regards,
