    Good Day All,

Can anyone tell me how to extract/import footage from a DVD? FCP HD is giving me access to few .vob files but not the entire DVD. Regarding the VHS tape I am getting no access whatsoever. I am using a JVC deck and I switch it from DV to SVHS but FCP is not regocnizing it. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards,
    Di

For the DVD part, do a search of posts, it’s been discussed lots and lots.

If you are using a “DUAL” VHS/DV Deck, the VHS tapes will not play down the FireWire (only the DV tapes will do that).

You should first dub the VHS to a DV tape, then capture the DV tape into FCP.

    As for DVD imports:

    Here are 3 popular rippers.

Mpeg SlipStream is very popular, Found at the following link>
