I have a client who has an old DVD he wants changes to but his former provider is out of business so he doesn’t have original digital film. He would like me to use the shots in the old dvd along with new film but I can’t seem to extract them. I haven’t used dvd much, and not familiar with architect 1.o which came with my vegas 4.0. When using architect and insert media I go to dvd and find two files a video_ts and an audio_ts. When I try to open them no files are showing, but if I explore the video_ts file it has several files including a video_ts described as an ifo file, and a ts.bup file, neither of which has any way to open video files. Not sure how much more info you might need or if this is enought to help. If I can’t extract the files this way, is there another way to get the film into vegas? Thanks.

There are several options you can download from the internet. In Vegas 6.0c and later, there’s a File – Import from DVD Camcorder Disc option. Of course, you always have the option of just playing the DVD through a convertor and capturing as straight DV-AVI.

Now why didn’t I think of that! 🙂 Appreciate the help Edward and your back issues of newsletters…I always get good stuff from there.
